Prerequisite: MTH 437 (it is offering now) for MTH 438, or permission from the instructor.

Textbook: Jerrold E. Marsden / Anthony J. Tromba, Vector Calculus , 4th edition.
Textbook: Allan Pinkuc / Samy Zafrany, Fourier Series and Integral Transforms.

MTH 437 and MTH 438 are intended for a one-year course in the calculus of functions of several variables and vector analysis. Much of the basic theory as well as many concrete examples will be presented. Computational skills and intuitive understanding are important at this level. Besides covering most chapters from this book, extra materials about sequences, series, uniform convergence, Fourier series, Laplace transforms will be provided.

MTH 437 covers the first five chapters from the text book, together with some extra materials beyonds the text. MTH 438 covers the rest chapters in the text book and some extra materials about Fourier series, Laplace transforms...

Grading Policy: Weekly homework 50%; Mid term and Final 25% each.
