Textbook: Dilip Datta, FINITE MATH for LIBERAL ARTS .
Course contents: Chapter 2 - Chapter 6, and Chapter 7,8 (time permitting).
Grading Policy:
Final Grade: Final Exam: 30%; Two Exams: 20% each;
Quizzes 30%.
Quizzes:
You will be given a 10-point quiz on every Wednesday.
Quiz problems will be from homework problems and examples given in class
with number changes. There will be NO makeup quizzes, and I'll drop the lowest 2 for you at the end of this semester.
Homework: All odd numbered problems in Exercises. You
should do ALL of them if you want to do better in exams and quizzes.
Although you are not required to hand in homework, you are welcome to bring
questions to class, and if you want me to grade some of your homework problems,
please hand them in. Even though there will
be no credit for homework, I do encourage you to try those problems because
doing homework is the the best way to digest what you learned in class!
Exams and Final: In this semester, we have two 1-hour exams and a final exam.
Help: Help is available from me during my office hours,
or by appointment.
Enjoy Math 107 and Enjoy this semester!
